INTRODUCTION
Silver anti-tarnish is a specially formulated solvent-free and anti-tarnish process for silver and silver electroplate. A monomolecular protective film can be formed during immersion in the bath, which prevents silver sulfide or other related oxidation reactions. This product consists of a highly active oxidation inhibitor soluble in water, the film is non-poisonous, non-irritating, which can be applied to jewelry, ornaments, all types of flatware and holloware, etc. It has a lubricating effect on contacts, so when applied to electronic connectors, it hardly affects contact resistance. Also, solderability will not be affected in any cases.
EQUIPMENT
Tank: stainless steel, PP, PVC, PVDC or high density polyethylene.
Ventilation: required.
Heat system: PTFE.
Agitation: preferably by pumping.
Filtration: not required.
ANALYSIS AND CONTROL
1 ml Pipette | 0.1N iodine |
20 ml Pipette | 0.1N sodium thisulphate |
50 ml Pipette | 1% starch indicator |
250 ml Erlenmeyer flask |
1．Pipette a 20 ml sample of silver anti-tarnish into a 250 ml Erlenmeyer flask.
2．Add 20 ml of 0.1N iodine.
3．Stir for 10 minutes.
4．Titrate with 0.1N sodium thisulphate to light yellow.
5．Add 1 ml of starch indicator (1%).
6．Continue titration with 0.1N sodium thisulphate to colorless end point.
Calculation：Silver anti-tarnish (ml/l) = 13.5 x (20-v)
Note: duplicate it to ensure the accuracy of the analysis results.
TROUBLE SHOOTING

SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL
Silver anti-tarnish should prevent from skin and eye contact. If so, rinse with water immediately and seek medical help if necessary.
