INTRODUCTION
The bath is slightly alkaline, and has excellent covering power. It is particularly suitable for zinc die castings with complex shapes.
Bright and smooth coating, with a wide range of current densities.
It can be used for both barrel and rack plating.
With just one make-up agent, it's easy to manage.
EQUIPMENT
Tank: mild steel is lined with the appropriate rubber, PVC or PP.
Heating system: it can be heated by a stainless steel, titanium or quartz electric pens.
Anode: OFHC oxygen-free highly conducting copper rods.
Anode bag: not required.
Filtration: requires continuous filtration, at least 4 times within an hour.
REPLENISHMENT
RC-203 Additive | Consumption (1,000 amp/h) |
RC-203 Brightener | 180-220 ml/l |
Depending on the operating temperature, agitation and bath surface area, the amount of ammonia added is approximately 0.05-0.1 ml/l/h. |
MATTERS NEEDING ATTENTION
Pay attention to the purity and impurities of K4P2O7 and Cu2P2O7 ? 4H2O. some Cu2P2O7 ? 4H2O on the market contains water of crystallization, resulting in a decrease in the proportion of pyrophosphate, which should be recalculated and re-adjusted.
After a large quantity of ammonia hydroxide has been added, it is advisable to stir it for a while before electroplating.
It is vital to control the P ratio (pyrophosphate : copper) and pH value of the bath.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
Troubles | Causes | Solutions |
High current density area charring | Low metallic copper | Analysis and replenish |
Low content of phrophospoate | Analysis and replenish
High current density | Adjust to the standard range
Low bath temperature | Heat to 50-55℃
Insufficient air agitating | Check equipment, increase air agitation
Dull in low current density area | Excessive ammonia hydroxide | Heating to remove ammonia hydroxide |
High temperature | Reduce the temperature to 50-55℃
Low pyrophosphate | Analysis and replenish the pyrophosphate
Stepped deposits in low current | Excessive brightener | Electrolysis or activated carbon treatment |
The coating is not glossy | Insufficient brightener | Add 0.1-0.2 ml/l of brightener |
Lack of ammonia hydroxide | Add 1-2 ml/l of ammonia hydroxide
The drag-in of cyanide | Check the source of cyanide, add 1-2 ml/l hydrogen peroxide, stirring for 1 hour
Brittle coating | Contamination of organic impurities | Activated carbon treatment |
Spots and dull on coating | Contamination of hexavalent chromium | Electrolytic treatment at 1 amp/m2 |
