INTRODUCTION
It is a method to obtain a uniform and hard nickel phosphorus alloy coating by auto-catalytic reduction reaction. Under the optimum conditions, the deposition rate can reach 25 μm/h without affecting the stability of the solution.
2060 X and 2060 Y are used as make-up solutions, 2060 X and 2060 Z are used to maintain the concentration of the solution.
A single stabilizer/bond makes the working life of the solution longer. Under normal operating conditions, the solution can be used for 8-12 cycles on the steel substrate .
The coating is glossy and has high ductility.
It has good adhesion with a wide variety of substrates, and high impurity tolerance.
Replenishment can be added at operating temperature.
Suitable for both barrel and rack plating.
EQUIPMENT
Tank: high density PP tank, preferred double-cylinder style. (For example, when the nickel coating deposited on the inner wall of the tank or the heater, the solution can be filtered into another tank, and the operation can be continued after adjustment. The original tank is cleaned with dilute nitric acid and water. In addition, a nitric acid tank of the same size also need to be prepared)
Temperature control: 316 stainless steel or PTEE coated electric heating pen is recommended.
Air agitation: slight air agitating or mechanical reciprocating agitating. The air for stirring is supplied by a low pressure oil-free pump.
Circulating filtration: only non-metallic pumps can be used. The filter pump must be high temperature resistant, and the solution can be filtered 10 times in an hour, and must be filtered continuously. The pores of the filter rod or filter bag should not be greater than 5 μm. The solution should be transferred to the prepared tank with a filter pump after use every day, and then cleaned by the above method.
MATTERS NEEDING ATTENTION
Replenishment times should be as frequent as possible to maintain a normal deposition rate and coating property.
Do not operate below 80% concentration. If the concentration is too low, it should be replenished to the normal concentration by small quantities in high frequency.
The electroless nickel process is the same as other electroplating processes, different metal substrates require different pretreatment processes.
As in general electroplating, proper degreasing and activation of the metal substrate are required.
Although 2060 has a high tolerance to the impurities, it will still have a considerable impact if the plating solution is brought into some impurities such as palladium, cadmium, lead, tin, organic compounds or some surfactant.
SOLUTION ANALYSIS
Ø Ni content
1.Pipette a 5 ml solution into a 250 ml Erlenmeyer flask.
2.Add about 100 ml of pure water.
3.Add about 10 ml concentrated ammonia water.
4.Add a piece of Murexide indicator.
5.Titration with 0.1N EDTA solution from brown to purple end point.
Ni content (g/l) = 0.1N EDTA titration number x 1.174
Ø 2060 Z content
1.Pipette a 5 ml solution into a 25 ml iodine drop of Erlenmeyer flask.
2.Add about 25 ml hydrochloric acid (50%).
3.Add 50 ml of 0.1N iodine, cover and shake well. Then place in the dark for 60 minutes.
4.After 1 hour, titrated with 0.1N sodium thiosulfate. When it is towards the end point, add 2-3 drops (4g/l) starch indicator and titrated until clear.
2060 Z content (ml/l) = [ 0.1N I2 iodine solution (ml) -0.1N Na2S2O3 (ml) ] X 1.95
Note: The standard concentration of 2060 Z is 65 ml/ l, and the operating range is 45-75 ml/l.
