RC-612 Accelerator

INTRODUCTION

RC-612 is a concentrated liquid mixed with water that can be prepared into an accelerated activation solution for electroless plating. It is used for pre-activation treatment before electroless copper or nickel plating. It can change the initial plating rate of electroless copper or nickel plating and obtain a better coating with uniform, good adhesion and cohesion.

In the application of printed circuit board, RC-612 guarantees to gain a uniform, good adhesion of electroless copper plating, laminated copper coating of pressure welding performance, good coverage and deep hole coating conductivity.

EQUIPMENT

The solution can be added to PP, PE or polyoxyethylene tanks. As a strong acidic solution, the use of titanium tubes, stainless steel tubes is not allowed for exhaust systems and heating systems, but teflon or quartz glass heating tubes are recommended.

SOLUTION ANALYSIS

0.1N NaOH: 100 ml deionized water or distilled water to dissolved 4 g NaOH.

Methyl orange indicator: 1 g methyl orange indicator dissolved in 99 ml deionized water.

1. Pipette a 5 ml of RC-612 into a 250 ml Erlenmeyer flask.

2. Add 50 ml of deionized water or distilled water.

3. Add a few drops of methyl orange indicator.

4. Titration with 0.1N NaOH to the yellow end point.

Normal concentration of the operating solution = 0.2 x titration ml of NaOH x normal concentration of NaOH

The normal concentration of RC-612 is 0.15N-0.3N (120 ml/l; 0.24N for make-up). According to the analysis, 10 ml/l of RC-612 need to be added for every 0.02N decrease.

WASTEWATER DISPOSAL

RC-612 is a strong acidic solution. After being diluted with water, it must be neutralized with NaOH to a pH value of 7.5-9. The metal ion can be removed when needed. Check the wastewater discharge rules before doing so.
