RC-NCY Quaternary Cyanide-free Zincate For Aluminum Alloy

INTRODUCTION

• Simple operation, especially for rack plating and barrel plating.

• Do not contain cyanide.

• A dense and uniform thin film of quaternary metal zincate can be produced on the surface of aluminum, which provides a good adhesion for direct copper plating, nickel plating, tin plating and chemical nickel deposition in the subsequent process.

SOLUTION MAINTANANCE

The replenishment of cyanide-free zincate agent for aluminum alloy can be calculated by specific gravity. When the solution concentration is 250 ml/l, the specific gravity is about 1.10, and it should be maintained between 10.8 and 1.12. In addition, 20 ml/l cyanide-free zincate agent for aluminum alloy should be added for each increase of 0.01 specific gravity unit.

1 g/l of zinc levels can be provided for each addition of 22 ml/l cyanide-free zincate agent for aluminum alloy.

DETERMINATION OF ZINC LEVELS

1) Pipette a 1 ml sample into a 250 ml Erlenmeyer flask.

2) Add 80 ml of pure water.

3) Add 5 ml 20% (v/v) triethanolamine, add 1 g ammonium fluoride.

4) Add 10 ml pH = 10 buffer solution and 10 ml anhydrous alcohol.

5) Add 3-4 drops of PAN indicator.

6) Titrate with 0.1 M EDTA until the solution gets yellow from red the end point.

Zinc levels (g/l) = titratable number (0.1 M EDTA) × 6.54 ÷ n (n is sample)
