INTRODUCTION
It can be used in semi-bright nickel, bright nickel and other nickel baths. It can chelate with the iron ions from the bath to form a water soluble complex, deposit with nickel on coatings by changing its deposition potential.
When steels have been plated in the bath for a long term, the surface of workpieces at LCD areas will be dissolved in the acid bath, causing the accumulation of iron impurities, also a part of iron impurity comes from nickel anodes. When the content of iron in the bath is too high, precipitation will be produced as a form of iron hydroxide, and contained in coating which will result in roughness, brittle deposit with appears of burrs and pinholes. The effects of iron impurity can be eliminated by the addition of efficient powdered de-ironing agent.
